The Fatalii chilli originates from South Africa. This is a white variety of the more usual yellow colour. The pods are known to have a unique citrus flavour unlike other chillies of the capsicum chinense variety. They also have thin walls making them perfect for drying out.
The heat level is similar to the habanero, around 125 – 500 SHUs. However, rather than the slow build of a habanero, it has an immediate hot mouth burn. Then after that quick first punch, the delicious and unusual citrusy flavours come out.
The White Fatalii chilli plant grows to around 60 – 75cm tall. It produces pods which can be up to 7.5cm long, and ripen to creamy white.
